This is kind of random...especially for not having really given a propper blog update in about 2 weeks. I just haven't felt like typing any blog updates or anything. I've been out late at night...usually in Bonner Springs...and by the time I get home, I'm too tired to type anything. But right now, I want to talk about music...or rather, why music is note worthy to bring up right now.
First off, let me just say that I like music. I like it a lot. I especially like Classic Rock. As Bob Seger sang, "I like that old time Rock and Roll." I also like a small handful of Country (Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash), and some punk (Bowling For Soup, Green Day) and a dwindeling amount of hair metal (Guns&Roses, Poison). I even performed "Talk Dirty To Me" in a Kareokee Bar the first time I was in one.
Anyway, about 3 1/2 weeks ago (by the way, this is where the music start comes in), John at the Roving Imp said he was wanting to clean out the play list on the computer in the theater and start over with a whole new play list. I offered to loan him any number of my CDs (I've got between 150 and 300). But it was actually Nifer who first stated she would be interested in borrowing some of my CDs. So I went through about 95% of my CDs (not so much the hair metal music) and took them to the Imp for her to puruse, burn, and then pass on to John for him to puruse.
I don't know what all albums John used or that Nifer kept for her iPod, but I do know that John put some songs onto a shuffled playlist to be played during the Red Rubber Ball show Saturday night. One of them was the song "Jesus Mentioned" by Warren Zevon off of the album THE ENVOY. It was based off of the Seinfeld episode (the show, not the song, the song is about Elvis) The Puffy Shirt. John decided to pick music that was hard to understand. All of the Warren Zevon songs were from The Envoy. Perhaps I've listened to that album so much that I don't have a problem understanding the songs.
Anyway, since I've gotten all of the CD's back, I've been interested in listening to them. I'm trying to go through some of my old CD's I've had for years but haven't listened to in a while. Some of them, it's been a few years. Some hasn't been since I went to JCCC...or high school.
Unfortunately, I don't have a whole lot of time to listen so I listen in my car. But I'm not going far enough to listen to a greatest hits album. Oh well. I'm still having fun going through my old CDs.

The Mini-Imp Fest has cometh and Stayeth for a while-eth
Okay, so the Roving Imp started it's 3 year Anniversary special tonight. This had Game Show, TrivProv and Dimensional Rift. Here is a cast photo from Dimensional Rift.

I like this photo because of how much it looks like a group photo...like it was planned or something. In reality, I took pictures for the shows tonight but I'm in Dimensional Rift. So my mom took the pictures for that show.

April Fool's Joke
Okay, so I got 1 April Fool's Joke this year. Usually, April Fool's is a prank and not something you want. The one I got was one that I wish was true. Thursday nights at the Roving Imp, we usually play games after rehearsals. This week, the game was Lunch Money. But the website said we were going to be playing "Strip Lunch Money." This was obviously a joke for April Fools Day. But deep down, I wanted this to be true. I wanted it to be true because I don't usually play that well in Lunch Money and I saw it as a tactical advantage to me if it were Strip Lunch Money because no one would want to see me naked. Of course, if it were Strip Lunch Money, then it would be awkward also because it would be like, "well, look who ________ is attacking." So obviously, not having a Strip version of Lunch Money (in which we are all playing the part of 8-year old girls on the playground by the way) is probably better.
By the way, someday, I might give an update just over the game of Lunch Money.

Evidence from Whose Line Is It Anyway
Every now and then in improv, we are reminded that we should avoid plot and planning ahead and instead, deal with how we feel about our scene partner's character and living in the moment. We are also told that it's the brain of the male who tends to plot and plan ahead while it's the mind of the female who is more likely to live in the moment and deal with their scene partner in an emotional way. Then, I watched this scene from Whose Line Is It Anyway:
In this scene, they're playing the game of Sound Effects. While here, Colin is telling Ryan how they are going to get out of a Nazi Germany POW camp. The woman from the audience who are providing the sound effects start giving the sound of what Colin and Ryan are talking about while they're just talking about what they're going to be doing. It has to be stated in the scene that hopefully the sound effects won't happen until they actually do it. It's funny because the women are getting ahead of them soundwise. But clearly, especially when done in the game of Sound Effects, it would be better to just act and not plan. This always is used in my mind as to the idea that men tend to plot more and women tend to emotionially react to the moment.

Medicne
I currently have a sinus infection. It's not the biggest issue in the world. I've had them before and I'll more than likely get them again. The issue is that I'm now taking an antibiotic which almost always screws with my eating schedule. This one is one I take twice a day WITH FOOD. But, I can't take it any less than 2 hours before or after consuming either dairy products or an antacid. I've had 3 bleeding ulcers before so the doctor has me taking Prilosec OTC for life. I take it once a day on a 15 day cycle (14 then 1 day without). As soon as I take it, I like to have breakfast...which is cereal and pop-tarts (though, sometimes, my grandma and I go to Pegah's Restaurant...but that doesn't matter for this update). I also take Allegra-D twice a day. This is for allergies and is to be taken 1 hour before or 2-3 hours after a meal...an empty stomich in other words. So, I get up early to take this. I go back to bed for an hour. Get up, take the Prilosec, have the cereal. Wait for a couple of hours, and then have the pop tarts so I can have my antibiotic with food but 2 hours after having dairy and/or antacid. The same happens 12 hours later. However, this time around, there isn't an antacid involved. But I practically have 2 dinners just like I practically have 2 breakfastes. Thankfully, I don't have to worry about having 2 lunches.
By the way, I'm not a HUGE fan of food...strangely enough. There are very few foods that appeal to me that I would have to say that I love. This would include cheese and ice cream. The problem here...is that they are both DAIRY! UGH!
