Where Am I?

So this last week came to a weird end that also affected the weekend. It's like nothing was quite right. I can't remember how long ago it was since I last updated but let's go back to Tuesday...

Tuesday was a good night. The day was okay. But I want to focus on Tuesnight. For Trivia, I went with the name The Excitable Boy as a reference to the Warren Zevon album. Trivia ended at about 8:05pm. Nifer won. I came in second and Chris was third. We didn't do a second round. However, we stayed around and John came up and around 10pm, we started watching The Office season 5 DVD 1. Sometime after Chris left, some guy came in (we'll assume he was stoned) and ordered a coffee. He was shocked to find he actually owed something...or so I hear.

Wednesday, I went to play MAGIC at the Roving Imp. I lost for the second time but for the first time by running out of cards in my deck. I decided I'd prefer to loose in battle. That turned out to be the last Wednesday afternoon MAGIC game. But I didn't find that out until Thursday evening. The coffee shop's schedule has changed and now it doesn't open until 5pm. Anyway, my family and I went to Quizno's and had dinner. Then my mom and I went to find a location that I would be going to on Friday night. That night after I got back, my dog turned out to start to have the runs. It wasn't considered "serious" yet. But he'll be 13 (in human years) in May. So we needed to keep an eye on that.

Thursday the whole "runs" thing continued but it wasn't severe until late that night. That evening, I went out to the Roving Imp to see Omega Directive and ONE rehearse for their charity show that was the following Saturday. Then, after rehearsals, we played the game of Gloom. This is a card game in which you're supposed to die but keep your friends alive. I got home after midnight to find my grandma was cleaning up a "run" mess that the dog left. It was getting bad. It was not bloody or vomity. But it was bad. So we took him to the Mission Med Vet (pet ER...open 24-7). They took a sampling of his stool and found that he had a tape worm. It was now about 2:50am Friday morning.

Friday, my grandma and I went to get breakfast and got back without the dog needing to "run." But he wouldn't take the meds he was given. The following 12 hours were going to be busy and I wasn't able to function. So I got a quick nap. Then, I headed out to the Roving Imp and helped to clean Carl's appartment after he had moved out and before John's brother-in-law moved in. It was a disaster area. I suggested using it to make a film that took place after a nuclear holocost. But it wasn't clean enough for that. A nuclear holocost would be cleaner. So I mostly picked up trash and coins from the floor. There was $3.46 lying around in pennies, nickles, dimes, and a quarter. There was an extra penny that was literally caked to the window sill. With help, I even had to pick up a condom that looked like it had been filled with chocolate. (Let me just say that I don't know what was in it because I took a look at it to see what it was, noticed a color, and came to a conclusion in my head). Other than that, I swept some of the carpets, sponged the bathroom sink, windexed the mirror (as well as another mirror), glass shower doors, I even windexed the toilet. This made it look good enough to clean. I even wound up with a blister that broke and actually started to get an infection. Of course, the shower itself had to be given a good scrub down all around, the sink will have to be replaced and the toilet (seat at least) also. The mess that was swept from the carpet just came back and they're going to have to get rid of the carpet or something. Around 8:15, I came home and got a shower and then headed out to Westport Flea Market Comedy City to see Stitch Tactics because I've got a friend in that group. I enjoied the show. And it's too bad it has to be mentioned in this update.

Saturday, I had my improv worksop. It went pretty well I think. Unfortunately, we did a silent scene. I don't enjoy doing non-speaking scenes. It freaks me out. It turns out I can do it, I just need to have more confidence in myself. After dinner, I was back at the Imp just waiting around to see the shows and all of a sudden, I got hit with a combination of tired and depression. I didn't want to be there. I wanted to see the shows, but I didn't care about anything else for the hour and a half before the shows started. I was trying everything to give myself energy just to watch the shows. This included having a Hot Chocolate Skynet, a garlic and cheese pizza, a bottle of water. Anything. By the time the shows began, I was able to enjoy the shows. It was hard for me to focus, but I enjoied the shows. Best part, I won Seinfeld Season 7 DVD in a raffle. But I wound up getting home Saturday night around 2am.

Sunday was okay. I wound up missing Nifer's improv class which I was pretty upset about. The reason was that my family had tickets to see Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskerville's or a Dog Gone Detective Story at Martin City Meladrama and Valdeville Co. at Metcalf South Shopping Center. The show was good and I was glad to have gotten to seen it. But I was really bummed about missing class. I was bummed about it all month because there wasn't a class on Easter and since we'll all be in Chicago next week, Nifer won't be leading a class. If I was sucessful in signing up, I will get to take a non-group class this coming Saturday.

Anyway, that's a touch of where I am. I hope you enjoied it.
